Mike Carina is an illustrator and fine artist who works in a variety of mediums. He’s illustrated editorial work for The Wall Street Journal, produced marketing illustrations for Opus, painted cookbook illustrations for University of Southern California as well as created many gig posters and album art for bands across the country. He prefers a spontaneous and sketchy style, yet he’s developed a library of techniques in order to stay flexible while exploring new styles of drawing and painting.
His two children provide portrait practice every morning for a digest he’s developing titled, “Brekkie Sketches” - daily drawings of his kids from the breakfast table. Follow him on Instagram to see them unfold: @mike_carina
When he’s not drawing, he can be found tying flies or fly-fishing on rivers near his home in St. Paul, MN
